Thiruvananthapuram : Steps shall be taken to ensure all admission seekers get Plus II seats, said Education Mininster, V Sivankutty on Monday. Batches totally empty shall be identified and moved to districts where demand exists. Also, at districts where seats were raised by 20%, the situation will be assessed and a further 10% raise granted for government schools, if found necessary. The government will consider allowing temporary batches for science – the stream that’s seeing a lot of student demand for, the minister said.
In districts, not previously sanctioned for rasing seat capacity, demand will be scrutinised and capacities raised by 20% or 10% as the need might be. Also, subject to conditions, there shall be allowed a 20-10% raise in seating capacity in aided/non-aided, where 20% of the increase will apply for management seats and rest for general category.
Also, temporary batches shall be allowed after scrutinising application load for supplementary allotments and after supplementary allotments are done with, list shall be drawn up of those left and seats increased for accomodating them.
For the benefit of the scheduled tribes, a Humanities batch shall be added at Nallarnaadu Ambedkar Memorial Model Residential School in Wayanad and another one at Government Model Residential School For Girls in Kalpetta too, the minister said.
