New Delhi : Two gunmen, posed as lawyers, opened fire in Delhi’s Rohini court, killing three including feared gangster Jitendra Gogi. The gunmen too were killed by police at the scene.
Jitendra Gogi was lodged in Tihar Jail and was due to be produced before the court. The assailants – members of rival gang including one with a Rs 50,000-bounty to his head- shot Gogi point blank as cops escorted him through the court’s corridor.
Gogi was arrested iby Delhi Police’s Special Cell in April under Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act and charged with 19 counts of murder and attempted homicide.
Gogi was a school dropout who forayed into real estate initially and later took to crime after his father’s death in 2010, becoming one of the most dreaded criminals on police’s wanted list.
There were 40 rounds fired and a woman lawyer ireportedly sustained injury in the crossfire.
