Malappuram : In the context of Sujitha’s murder in Tuvur, the Opposition Leader VD Satheesan lies blatantly before media, said DYFI State Secretary VK Sanoj. Satheesan is trying to whitewash the prime accused and Youth Congress Mandalam Secretary Vishnu. Media too is conniving to conceal Vishnu’s political background, said Sanoj.
Mainstream media is not open about Vishnu’s political affiliation. Also, the news is not accorded significance like how other stories are handled, the DYFI secretary said.
The Youth Congress Mandalam Secretary Vishnu murdered the woman and buried her in the trash pit behind his house. And, when the community was shocked given that, he had actively campaigned for the missing woman in movie fashion, Satheesan tried hard cover up Vishnu’s link to the Party.
Vishnu belongs to hardcore Congress family and was an active KSU activist during his Higher Secondary days in 2012 - 14. On completing studies he joined Youth Congress and went on to become its Mandalam Secretary. He has close connections with top rung Congress leaders.
On his Facebook page, Vishnu can be seen in photos with AP Anil Kumar MLA, DCC President VS Joy and KPCC General Secretary Aryadan Shakat.
Vishnu was brazen in his pretense, to the extent that he posted picture of Karuvarakkund police on social media appealing for any information that anybody might have on the missing Sujitha. When the body was dug out right from his backyard, later it was obvious he was responsible for the murder. Youth Congress office bearers soon came up with the story that the Party had expelled Vishnu on 24th of May.
The Block Congress President Joji K Alex would later clarify that Vishnu’s expulsion came only after the crime came to light. The deceased Sujitha’s husband also belongs to a pro-Congress family. Satheesan is giving out lies worried that the murder might impact Puthupally byelection. Post his fake statement, DYFI workers burnt VD Satheesan’s effigy in front of Malappuram DCC office.
