Thiruvananthapuram : The K-Rail Rehabilitation package l is ready in its primary form. Those standing to lose home on account of the project will receive sum of Rs 4.6 lakh in addition to their property compensation, said Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. Alternatively, they may choose to receive Rs 1.6 lakh and free housing like under LIFE mission. Government compensation will amount to twice the market price value of properties, said CM, addressing Janasamaksham SilverLine Programme held in capital.

If livestock sheds(stables) become dismantled, tan additional compensation ranging from Rs 25,000 to Rs 50,000 shall be paid. For those losing commercial spaces , the property owners shall be be paid twice the market cost in in compensation. For those running business in rented units, the government will pay Rs 2 lakh in compensation. Also, those leaving their homes behind shall be paid Rs 30,000 to live on rent.
