Thiruvananthapuram : The three nominees to Rajya Sabha from Kerala were elected unopposed as MPs on Friday. Those elected are : V Sivadasan and John Brittas from CPI(M) and UDF’s Muslim League candidate PV Abdul Wahab.
The last date to withdraw nominations ended 3 pm, Friday. Without anymore in the fray or drop-outs, the Legislative Assembly Secretary, SV Unnikrishnan Nair, declared all three as elected.
Of the 140-member Assembly, 131 MLAs currently possess right to vote, with four legislatures passing away and another 3 resigning. 2 members have no voting rights. The 2 candidates from LDF and 1 from LDF were fielded on strength of these numbers.
