THIRUVANANTHAPURAM : DYFI and SFI staged protest demonstrations all through the night beginning late hours Sunday, to condemn police brutality on Jamia Millia Islamia students in New Delhi.
The police on Sunday had forcefully entered the University campus and thrashed students mercilessly, including those at prayers in the mosque inside, for raising voices against the newly enacted Citizenship Amendment, that denies citizenship for Muslim refugees in the .country. Several students were injured in the incident.
In Kozhikode, DYFI activists blocked trains including Malabar Express. Thiruvananthapuram was also venue to strong protests lasting all night. The District Committee-led demonstrations comprising women members too, marched to Raj Bhavan around 11.45 last night.

The march that took off from the Museum police station was stopped by police using barricades at Raj Bhavan. Police used water canons at protesters who tried to cross over barricades.
The demonstration that followed, was inaugurated by party’s State Treasurer SK Sajeesh.
Leaders announced that the protests which are here to continue, will be bolstered in coming days
