Thiruvananthapuram : The disbursement of social security pensions will begin Monday. Two-month pension of Rs 3200 will be credited to over 60 lakh beneficiaries before Onam. The government has sanctioned Rs 1762 crore rupees towards remittances of social security and welfare pensions, of which Rs 1550 crore will go into disbursement of social security pensions and Rs 212 toward pensions from various government-aided welfare boards across the state.
Of the beneficiaries, half of them receive pension with direct credit into their banks while others collect it at co-operative societies. All remittances would be compete by the 23rd.
