Kottayam : The govt announced solatium of Rs 10 lakh to families of the two victims killed by wild buffalo. The amount will be paid in 2 installments, the first of which will be paid tomorrow, the District Collector told media. The rest will be remitted after due procedures, he added.
Two men were killed in Erumeli after a wild buffalo killed them in an ambush attack on Friday, 19 May. The deceased were identified as Chacko(65) andThomas (60). Chacko died at the scene, while Thomas succumbed to his injuries at Kottayam Medical College. Chacko was reading newspaper seated in front of his house, when the wild buffalo suddenly showed up and attacked him fatally. Thomas who lived next door too met with same fate.
