Kottayam : There turned up an unlikely culprit in the burglary at residence of St. Mary’s Bethlehem church priest in Kottayam, where police arrested the priest’s son, Shino Nainan Jacob(36) for the robbery..
The incident took place on Tuesday evening. The kitchen window at Fr. Jacob Ninan house was broken into and gold and cash was missing.
The investigation team led by district police chief, K Karthikeyan, utilised forensic evidences collected from the crime scene to track the burglar, little expecting the trail would lead them to the priest’s own blood.
Shino habitually purchases lotteries in bulk quantity - a craze that landed him neck deep in debts.
