Pathanamthitta : The BJP state president K Surendran is hesitant to denounce Yuva Morcha Ranni Mandalam Vice President Rajesh  accused in the Spices Board recruitment scam.  When referred to the conning by reporters at the press conference, Surendran  responded saying Rajesh has nothing to do with the BJP.

Though Rajesh left his leadership post, photos that emerged subsequently put Party in tight spot.  On his Facebook page, the District Secretary Shine G Kurup had pictures  of Rajesh participating in BJP’s booth-level events.

Rajesh is native of Malayalapuzha and shifted to Ranni after his marriage where he became the Mandalam office bearer to Yuva Morcha.  Rajesh was an active RSS worker in Malayalapuzha prior to that.  After failing to clear Plus I, Rajesh took to selling fish. It is during this time that he became acquainted with  Akhil Sajeev.

The duo would later partner  for the conning game. Putting  Rajesh’s BJP connections to use, they swindled lakhs of rupees promising people job with the Spices Board under Central government.  To dupe the gullible, Rajesh posed as employee at the accounts department of the Spices Board. When lakhs were shelled out and there was no sign of appointment despite months passing, the victims lodged complaint with the police.
