Changanassery : A sports teacher and seasoned athlete collapsed and died during disciplinary duty at her school. The deceased was identified as Manu John(50) from Good Shepherd School, Tengana.
Manu was won several national medals for Kerala in middle-long distance categories. She competed at school level for St. Joseph School in Changanassery and for Assumption College at University level. She was also cross country team captain for MG University.
Manu trained along side Anju Bobby George, Ajith Kumar, Chacko and Sini under former university coach Late PV Velci.
The funeral is scheduled at 9:30 am Saturday at St.Antony’s Church after public homage at Good Sheperd School and rituals that begin at 3:30 at her home.
Father : Late Parathar Thomas Mathew(Monichan), Mother : Cinnamma Thomas. Children: Megha Johnson(Canada) and Ravi Krishna; Son-in-law : Melbin Johnson.
