Palakkad : Police have positively identified four suspects involved in murder of RSS leader Sreenivasan in Palakkad. All four are believed to have taken direct part in the crime. The 4 suspects are : Shankvarathode native Abdurehaman, Firoz, Patambi native Ummar Abdul Khadar. CCTV footage provided crucial clues to identification of these men.
One of the bikes used by the assailant gang bears Tamil Nadu registration. CCTV images show the bike crossing into Vallapuzha. Firoz and Ummar rode the Tamil Nadu-registered bike. In the images, Abdul Khadar is seen riding a Activa scooter. Abdul is also arrainged in a case of arson in 2018 in Hemambik police station limits.
Sreenivasan was killed on 16 April. A 6-member gang that arrived on 3 bikes made the kill. CCTV images proved to be police’s biggest aide in determining the assailants and investigators also found how one of the bikes was purchased by Shankvarathode native Abdurehaman. Police also managed to obtain his mobile number and that helped to find the roles of all four in the crime.
