Stabbing Death of Dr. Vandana Das: Human Rights Registers Case

Thiruvananthapuram: : The Human Rights Commission registered case in the stabbing death of young lady doctor at Kottarakkara Talum hospital on Wednesday at hands of a govt school teacher brought in for treatment by the police.  The Commission ordered Kollam Police Chief to submit detailed report on the murder within seven days. The Commission had registered its case based on media reports.

The shocking murder
Police fetched a middle-aged school teacher to Taluk hospital in Kottarakara for dressing up wounds. In the midst of treatment in the procedure room, the accused suddenly got up from the table and stabbed 23-year-old doctor using  scissors he stealthily picked up from the room.. Police waiting around too were hit with scissors.

The tragic victim, Dr. Vandana Das, succumbed to the five stab wounds she sustained in the neck and to her back.  The assailant is Sandeep who has been transported to trauma care to check for alcohol consumption or drug use.

The police picked on Sandeep originally following his call for help at Control Room saying he was attacked and injured. Upon reaching his house, they found him wounded and had brought him to hospital for medical attention.  All the same, the brtual hospital murder has outraged the medical community with several unions up in protest.
