Thiruvananthapuram: As curtains fall on local body elections, the spectre of infighting is back in BJP. In their separate letters to national leadership, senior BJP leader Shoba Surendran and Krishnadas faction asked for removal of  K Surendran as the party’s State Secretary. The demand comes against BJP’s poor performance in the just-concluded local body elections.

Shoba and Krishnadas factions have come together in their joint onslaught on common enemy and their letters symbolize domestic Chargesheet against Surendran.  The two leaders said Surendran’s His claim of gaining more wards than 2015 is a hoax. The party has suffered huge setback in block and district panchayats. And, in context of corporations, the party has not been able to reach anywhere around the expected target, they added.

Both factions accused Surendran for his dictatorial style saying he took party decisions all by himself without consultation. There was no meeting of Election Committee or the party’s Core Committee, they pointed out. Shoba’s main contention was that Surendran simply ignored party seniors like PM Velayudhan, KP Sreesan , and so forth including herself.
