THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Following arrests of several reporters including news crew from Kerala, the Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has moved top level administration, seeking their immediate release. CM issued instructions to ensure safety of the media persons and their release to state authorities, apart from talks with top brass in Karnataka, DGP Loknath Behera said.

Two persons were killed in police firing during anti-CAA demonstrations in Mangaluru on Thursday, where hundreds of people  remain on streets defying prohibitory orders. The police nabbed several news reporters including those from Malayalam news channels, in a bid to prevent reporting on the incident.

The police are in dialogue with top police brass in Karnataka, DGP told reporters in the capital today.
