State's Chartered Plane To Fetch Malayali Students Returning From Ukraine: CM

Thiruvananthapuram : Over 3500 Malayalis have so far registered on NORKA Roots; Details of those stranded in  Ukraine’s easter region have been conveyed to the Union Ministry for Foreign Affairs and Indian Embassy in Ukraine, said Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Wednesday.

At NORKA Roots headquarters,  a  Control Room  is functioning 24 hours.  Also, Teams of NORKA officials  are working round-the-clock to help bring home Malayalis reaching airports of Delhi and Mumbai , said CM.

The State will deploy its chartered plane to fetch 180 Malayali students from Ukraine who have arrived in Delhi. The flight will take off 4 pm this evening and deliver the students in Nedumbasserry and Thiruvananthapuram airports. Vehicles have been arranged at airports to reach the arrivals to their respective homes. Special buses have been pressed into service  those traveling to Thiruvananthapuram and Kasaragod, said CM.
