Kohi : Given instances of food poisoning in the State, it will now be mandatory for all food parcels from restaurants to have slips or stickers on them, indicating the time within which the parcel contents must be consumed. Strict checks in this regard shall be conducted across the State, the Food Safety dept. informed.
To ensure clean food in restaurants, all employees must compulsorily possess Health Card. Time for obtaining this has been extended up to the 15th. If a person without Card is found during inspection rounds, license for restaurant shall be canceled.
The certificate must be in prescribed format and one that is issued by a registered medical practitioner. Tests for the certificate will involve physical examination, vision test, check for skin diseases, sores and wounds. Blood tests shall also be carried out to check for infectious diseases and it will also be verified if the person is fully vaccinated. The certificate must bear name, signature and seal of the issuing doctor.
When a previously shuttered restaurant reopens, all employees must undergo food safety training within the first two weeks. Also, the hygiene rating must be registered and affidavit thereof submitted.
