Aranmula :Strong public protest will follow, if  Centre tries to stifle Kerala financially, said Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Saturday.

For a while now, the Centre has been trying to suffocate the State. Kerala is the country's only State that’s implementing counter policies. And, this is just the kind of State, the Centre is trying to plunge  into crisis someway or other. All we ask for is what is due to us. And, denying that is undemocratic. It is impossible to accept such attitude of the Centre in any manner. In coming days, there will arise strong protest against this from the South to the North. The rally set to be led by the CPI(M) State Secretary is part of this.

The Central government is denying employment opportunities people deserve. The Public Sectors are being sold off. To offset that, the State government gives Welfare Pension to its people and takes Public Sector units as much as possible into its fold, and thereby create more employment opportunities.  PSC in Kerala has made more recruitments that UPSC in the Centre.

The State government is trying to identify those in extreme poverty and bring them into society’s mainstream. 64,000 such people have been identified so far. All these efforts are unacceptable to the  BJP-led Central government that touts policies to solely benefit the Corporates. Thus the attempt from  BJP  govt to create crisis and destroy the Kerala govt that works for the poor.  This is simply unacceptable, said Pinarayi Vijayan. The Chief Minister was was inaugurating the new office building of CPI(M)  Kozhenchery Area Committee in Aranmula.
