Pathanamthitta : KSRTC staff’s timely intervention spelt difference of life and death to a female student who lost consciousness in bus. The incident took place during a recent  KSRTC Fast Passenger trip bound for Pathanapuram from Amrita Medical College in Kochi.

Early morning 5 pm on that day, when the fairly crowded bus reached Aroor, the girl who boarded from Alappuzha complained of uneasiness. Passengers drew the conductor’s attention to her condition who quickly  arranged for her to lie down on a seat and directed  driver to divert bus to private hospital nearby.

However, as the bus stopped, the girl said she felt better and was alighting at her destination at the  next stop. The bus then moved on, but as it neared Aroor Toll Junction, the student passed out. The bus then skipped all stops and headed straight for Lakeshore Hospital, where the bus staff admitted the girl, arranged for a bystander before plying the bus back on route.

The timely action meant life for the girl. The heroic interventions were made by conductor attached to Pathanapuram depot,Varghese Samuel, a native of Manjalur and driver, a Kottakkara Pallikal native, Shibu.
