Kochi : KPCC President K Sudhakaran appeared before investigators as scheduled and questioning on charges of fraud relating to the fake antique scam, is in progress at the Crime Branch office in Kalamassery. On his arrival for questioning he was loud and angry with the waiting media. Meanwhile, Crime Branch is in possession of evidences proving Sudhakaran maintained constant touch with antique scammer Monson Mavunkal for years now. According to sources familiar with the investigation, developments could likely lead to arrest of Sudhakaran.
During interrogation, Sudhakaran has to cough up reason for his unusually frequent visits to Monson’s house and also his stayovers. Incidentally, Sudhakaran had recently came out in defense of Monson after the latter’s conviction in POCSO case.
The investigation team has secured digital evidence, incriminating phone calls etc showing Sudhakaran’s relentless communication with Monson shortly before becoming MP and in the aft. Sleuths obtained digital evidences from Monson’s laptop, cell phone etc that they seized in their search. Footages of Sudhakaran’s stay at Monson’s house in 2018 are also in custody.
