Thiruvananthapuram : KPCC President busted a clandestine meeting of new Group at Opposition Leader VD Satheesan’s residence last night. The nocturnal engagement was conducted despite Sudkhakaran’s strict instruction against Group meetings. Satheesan planned to bolster his Group by amassing new MLAs, who did not belong to either ‘A’ or ‘I’ group. Attendees at the closed-door meeting included Palode Ravi, Sabarinath, MA Waheed, VS Sivakuara and others among a total of ten.
Arriving with Sudhakaran to raid the unruly were : TU Radhakrishnan in charge of organisational matters and secretary to KPCC President, Vipin Mohan. Sensing Sudhakaran’s descend, the MLAs reportedly ran helter-skelter out of Satheesan’s house. Sudhakaran is set to bring up the matter to KC Venugopal, said sources
According to inner circles, the District Committee of VD Satheesan’s Group convened the meeting, the agenda being to ensure that the Group received fair prominence during re-organisation. Earlier, Sudhakaran had called upon Satheesan to discuss re-organisation, however the latter reportedly maintained cold indifference.
Meanwhile there are rumours there took place a clandestine meeting of ‘A’ Group in Puthupally under aegis of Oomen Chandy and former DCC president Joshi Philip. Oomen Chandy had blocked the reporters who arrived there saying it was a review meeting to discuss MLA Fund distribution.
VD Satheesan, K Sudhakaran, KC Venugopal and K Muraleedharan were once part of Chennithala-led ‘I’ Group. The ‘I’ Group too now is resentful after failing to find place in the re-organisation list.
