New Delhi : The Supreme Court on Monday granted Stay to arrest warrant against Marunadan Malayali editor Shajan Scaria. Chief Justice DY Chandrachud and Justice PV Narisimha pointed out that the case against Shajan does not fall in the purview of SC-ST Atrocties(Prevention) Act.
Even so, the apex court acknowledged prosecution argument that Shajan Scaria made defamatory remarks against PV Srinijin MLA. The interim Stay is valid for three weeks, up until Trial court takes up the case hearing.
