Kannur: Amid Shashi Tharoor’s controversial Malabar tour, Kannur DCC accords welcome to the Congress leader at its office. The reception held Wednesday morning, was however boycotted by the KC group.
In attendance were DCC Secretary Martin George and members of other groups. Conspicuous by their absence were : KC group members Sajeev Joseph MLA, Mayor TO Mohan and Sajeev Mavoli among others.
Meanwhile, Tharoor took a jibe at VD Satheesan’s “balloon” remark, saying the tour of Malabar is not meant for inflating balloon.
“This sort of comments are discomforting. Myself and M.K. Raghavan MP are accused of separatist activities. Just what separatist activities are we involved /” asked Tharoor. “Who is responsible for kicking this tour into a controversy using media?, asked Tharoor further, speaking with reporters in Kannur.
