Thiruvananthapuram:  This historic victory for LDF is public acknowledgement for the front’s principled stance and its welfare projects for the people, said CPI(M) State Secretariat.  We congratulate the people of Kerala for giving a befitting electoral  reply to  the false propaganda unleashed by central agencies and right-wing media houses. The poll outcome also reflects widespread trust in Pinarayi government that always put people’s welfare interests first.

UDF fought this election  by charting a secret pact with BJP on one hand and an open alliance with Welfare Party on the other. Also, Congress turned its votes in favour of BJP at several places in corporations. None of these  however helped to prevent a historic victory for LDF.

Congress sought to divide Kerala, by becoming a  bridge  positioned between  radicals standing for Hindu state on one side and pitchers of Islamic state on another. However, people of the Kerala lend their vote for LDF that stood for secularism.

Much of the media showed no hesitation to resort to extremes to serve  malicious propaganda. And, this elections have shown that public here don’t fall for web of lies. If they will realize this and make amends credibility for the media would be restored in the minds of the public.

Using central agencies it has at disposal, the BJP tried hard to wreck development projects initiated by the Left Democratic Front, Congress too jumped that wagon led by Opposition leader, Ramesh Chennithala - a reason why people of Kerala let that front down.

Amid this massive victory, the party will also examine why the LDF  failed to score anticipated win in certain wards and take corrective steps thereof. Support gestured by people will serve to boost government’s determination to advance the proud developmental projects.

The CPI(M) State Secretariat thanks people of the state for this glorious victory,  concluded the statement issued by the secretariat.
