Palakkad : ADGP Vijay Sakare on Tuesday said three RSS men were placed on arrest in the murder of SDPI leader, Subai. Arrested are, Ramesh, a close friend to RSS worker Sanjith who was murdered earlier and two other RSS workers -Sharavanan and Arumukhan. The three will be produced in court today.
Sanjith, killed five months ago, received threats from Subair, - something that Ramesh claims was confided to him. Ramesh also said that slain Sanjith had talked about ‘doing away with’ Subair. However in the meantime, it is Sanjith who got killed. It was in revenge for Sanjith’s death that Subair was murdered. Though it was initially planned to kill Subair between 8th and 9th of this month, the attempt failed, Ramesh told police.
On the day, Ramesh and others of the gang had arrived by the car Sanjith used when alive. They hit Subair's bike using their car, knocking him down and then hacked him to death in from of his father on Vishu day. They then abandoned the Sanjith’s car at scene and fled by another getaway vehicle they had hired from rent-a-car unit. The gang then abandoned the rented vehicle at an industrial stretch in Kanjikode. Based on CCTV images, the police identified the suspects soon after the crime, the very same day.
