Thrissur: In a bizarre display, a doctor at Thrissur Medical College removed his underwear in full public view by the roadside, shouting abuses at Minister and MLA. The “Jetty Challenge” showman was identified as Dr Krishnakumar and has been suspended from duty. Shortly after the incident, a committee headed by the medical college principal made their inquiry and submitted a report to the DMO Dr. Ramlabiwick. The suspension was effected based on this.
As the incident snowballed to become controversy, Dr. Krishnakumar approached the principal seeking pardon. The report forwarded to Thiruvananthapuram DMO includes the committee’s view on the doctor’s apology as well as complaints against the act.
Protesting potholes along Chettuva national highway in Chavakkad, Dr. Krishnakumar stopped passing vehicle, removed the underwear from below his lungi and proceeded to lay it on the road. He then posted the video of it all on social media tagging it with insults to Minister. G Sudhakaran and MLA, K.V. Abdullah. Curiously, the doctor’s underwearless drama came even as the repair works on that road was progressing full-swing.
During UDF’s tenure the last time, Dr. Krishnakumar was RMO at the Thrissur Medical College. The minister, MLA and several medical college authorities lodged complaints with the police seeking against the doctor who also has numerous allegations of unlawful private practice mounted against him. The police at Chavakkad, have registered a case against the doctor for obscene display on road.
