Thrissur : TN Prathapan takes a dig at Congress leaders who flaunt support for the distasteful YouTube channel - Marnadan Malayali. At a press conference in Thrissur, Prathapan said no self-respecting Congressman would offer to justify Marunadan Malayali Shajan Scaria who publicly humiliated Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, KC Venugopal and the Congress.
Prathapan said he giving out his view just like Sudhakaran and Remya Haridas were expressing their personal opinion based on their perspective. The media can make criticism of public figures in a decent manner. If it holds substance, we accept it. That does not mean you can say just anything you like because you happen to own a YouTube channel.
Shajan has always endevoured to advance communal divisions and foster hate and ostracise and attack the Muslim community, questioning their identity and existence, Prathapan told reporters.
Recently K Mraleedharan too hit out at Shajan. I don’t agree with Shajan’s activities. Media conduct themselves in dignity. However, talking like “This guy a good-for-nothing” cannot be seen as journalism. One other of Shajan’s other feature is his tendency is to condermn the Muslim community as a whole. Marunadan sounds somewhat like speaking from the Sangh Parivar turf, Muraleedharan had said.
