Nilambur:  Food items collected from around the state for flood victims in Nilambur rots away undistributed at shop in front Aryandan Muhammad’s house. The hoard weighing over 10 tons comprises  rice, wheat and other household provisions that passed through various organisations and people’s representatives  on its way to hard-hit Nilambur. Kits donated by MP Rahul Gandhi too lie among the items tucked away without benefit to needy public. The items were reportedly hoarded under instaructions from the  Congress Mandalam Committee.

The incident came to light when foul odour emanated from the godown and spread to the surroundings. Following this, Youth Congress workers opened the shop and discovered loads of food items infested with vermin. Locals in the area  raised protest over the callousness. Congress workers too later arrived at the scene, in support of the protesting crowd.
