New Delhi : The ATS team from Kerala and Delhi Police conducted detailed questioning of family members and relatives of Sharuk Saif, the suspect arrested over arson aboard Alappuzha - Kannur Express train on Sunday night. The bag police recovered from the crime scene and contents such as photo, a diary, the handwriting found in it, all belonged to Sharukh, the subjects confirmed during interrogation.
However, these people close to Sharukh said they had no knowledge of him visiting Kerala. Sharukh was missing on 31 March following which they lodged a complaint, said Sharukh’s parents, adding that, they had no knowledge of him having left Delhi. Meanwhile, police ar preparing to secure CCTV footages from around Sharukh’s house. Also, cops are tracking down people who kept close or frequent contact with him.
If son be guilty, he should be punished rigorously, said Sharukh’s father Faquruddin Ali to the reporters. It is when police arrived home that we learnt of the incident, he added.. The investigation team is preparing to question more people from Sharukh’s circle of friends and relatives to know what the elusive motive might be.
