Ernakulam : Works to set up 1000-bed capacity field hospital at Refinery School, Ambalamugal could begin by Thursday, the District Collector informed. The facility’s 1000 beds would be connected with oxygen supply and is being set up with support with BPCL.
When operational, the facility would become country’s highest oxygen-bed capacitated Covid treatment centre, said Collector S. Suhas. The first round of interview has concluded for doctors and nurses required for the facility, said the Manager of District Health Program.
The responsibility of managing the bed facility shall be entrusted to main hospitals in the region. Admissions shall be made via governmental system. Those covered by Karunya Health Insurance too can avail treatment at the facility.
BPCL Chief Manager Kurien Alapatt and officials from various departments took part in the on-line meeting held Tuesday to evaluate work progress so far..
