Kochi : The High Court on Wednesday turned down plea seeking CBI investigations into tree felling case. The Public Interest Litigation(PIL) was was submitted by George Vattukulam. After examining all aspects of the case, the he Bench headed by Chief Justice directed for all concerned to submit for investigations.
The Bench observed there was no need for court to intervene during the course of ongoing probe, which the court said was satisfactory. And, if there arises suspicion of flaws in investigation in time ahead, the court may be approached, it ruled further. The Bench also issued guideline for effective probe into the occurrence.
Context : The case pertains to illegal felling of rosewood trees allegedly from a reserved forest at Muttil South village in Wayanad
