Kochi : Fans, fraternity and prominent personalities poured into Kadavantra Indoor stadium to pay their last respects to film director Siddique who passed away last night. Members of film frat who arrived early morning included actor-director Lal, Vineeth, Jayaram, KS Prasad, Tovino Thomas, Mithun Ramesh etc. Arrivals also included Fahad Fazil, Janandhanan, CB Malyil, Laljos, B Unnikrishnan, Zeenath, actor Siddique, Indrans, Benjamin, Alleppy Ashraf.
Public homage began 8:30 am at the indoor stadium. The body was brought to Siddique’s house in Pallikkara in Kakkanad last night from where it was fetched to the Indoor stadium and will be transported back home at 12: The burial will take place at Ernakulam Central Juma Masjid cemetery at 6 pm.
Siddique presented Malayalis with light, heart-warming humour in his movies. The veteran director breathed his last at a private hospital in Kochi where he was being treated for liver disease for a over month. Onset of pneumonia worsened the condition rapidly. After slight response to emergency drugs, the director failed to make it through however. The end came at 9:10 last night.
