Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala Assembly on Wednesday paid tributes to thousands killed in massive Turkey-Syria earthquake.
We must join hands with the world to help restore normalcy in those lands devastated by the disaster, said CM, presenting resolution in this regard in today’s Assembly.
The Resolution
A natural disaster that sent shockwaves across communites struck Turkey and west of Syria on 6 February. The tragedy is like no other.
Thousands of valuable lives were lost to the earthquake. The disaster has caused destruction on wide scale. We too have experience natural disasters in the past. Calamities of this kind, no matter where they occur, are deeply saddening to us as humans. Even so, rather than remaining unperturbed, we have actively offered all possible disaster relief, at all such times.
Our country has already made preparations to reach disaster relief and medical aid to the disaster-struck regionsin Turkey and Syria. In this regard, we are ready to provide all possible assistance from our state. As a state, we too are willing to provide whatever help be possible on our side. We have join hands with world to help reinstate normalcy to the devastated land and its people.
This Assembly offers tribute to those who lost their lives. We stand by their families and share their grief.
