Thiruvananthapuram : A man accused in twin murder of 2011 has been hacked to death in Vazhayila last night. The deceased is : Vishnuroop(34) aka Manichan – the sixth accused in 2011 double murder which also took place in Vazhayila over a decade ago, but appears to have no bearing on the present crime.
Manichan has been hacked to death Wednesday night in Vazhayila's Aaramkallu in a private lodge, where he had checked in two days ago with a friend Harilal - a Thirumala native. Last night as Manichan and Harilal were having drinks, two others, Deepak Lal and Arun G Rajeev, joined in. Soon there arose an argument between two sides ending up with Deepak and Arun hacking Manichan, killing him at the scene. Harilal too sustained injuries and remains hospitalised.
Deepak and Arun had fled the lodge soon after the incident and were arrested by a team led by Nedumangad DySP.
The 2011 Double Murder : On the 9th of October in 2011, a local gang, Manichan included, hacked to death two notorious criminals, Kokkode Shyam and Pravin in Vazhayila, allegedly following dispute over sale of a second hand motorcycle.
