Kozhikode: Amid investigations into Muslim League State Secretary KM Shaji’s illegally constructed house in Kozhikode, two new claimants have surfaced seeking corporation sanction for the property.
The house in question was originally built Shaji’s wife Asha’name. All documents related to the house are in her name. The Corporation had declined certificate after the house construction was found to exceed permitted size. Following this, Shaji made alterations and submitted fresh application for Corporation certificate. This document has two new names - Ali Aksar and Afsa - apart from his wife Asha.
Shaji’s house stands on a 88 cent plot of which, he owns the front portion with the new house and the remaining land is owned by Ali Aksar and Afsa. Corporation had cited how the compound wall of Shaji’s house blocked access to the plots behind completely. As if in remedy to that, Shaji has now included those two in the latest application for Corporation certificate for his house.
Corporation authorities said they will seek legal advice in the matter. The Vigilance has meanwhile sought details on the development.
