Thiruvananthapuram : Samples from two more in the contact list turned negative for Nipah, said Health Minister Veena George. The tests were carried out at the newly-setup lab at Kozhikode Medical College.
Earlier samples from eight high-risk individuals sent to Pune virology institute too were negative for the virus. Three samples from each symptomatic persons were sent for testing, including those from the deceased child’s parents and the health staff who attended him at the hospital.
Results pertaining to other persons currently lodged in the hospital’s isolation ward are expected later in the day, the minister said.
