Bengaluru: Two of 6 culprits involved in brutal rape of a young woman trafficked from Bangladesh was shot in the leg by police in Bengaluru and re-captured. The incident took place 5 am this morning.
The viral video of a girl being brutalized by a pack of men sparked wide outrage and was initially thought to be a crime in the northern state. Police summoned public help to trace the incident and later arrested 6 persons including a woman in the case. Early this dawn, when police reached the culprits to a location to collect evidence and reconstruct the crime sequence, two among the men took off of foot and police fired two rounds injuring them in the leg.
Meanwhile, police are attempting to track down the victim who is believed to have escaped to another state after the incident. All culprits are Bangladeshi. So is the victim who was trafficked across the border.
