Koothuparambu: A major fire broke out in Moonampeedika in Koothuparamb. The blaze gutted out fully KB Trade Links located on the end floor of the two-storied building – an enterprise that started just Sunday. Kaneri native, M Balan is the business owner.
Fire tender from Koothuparambu and Mattannur arrived to fight the blaze. The fire was first noticed at 6.30 am Tuesday morning and Koothuparambu Fire Force quickly responded to the scene. The primary findings suggest the blaze began in the ground floor of the building and spread to upper storey. It is also speculated the blaze might have been caused by a short circuit.
Fire gutted the stock of beverages and Amulya products stored in the ground floor. Smoke and heat from the lower floors destroyed computers and other office equipments on the second floor. The damage estimate according to Fire officials is roughly 1 crore.
