Kochi : The Kerala High Court on Tuesday turned down the bail applications submitted by Alan and Taha - the pair accused of Maoist links.

The prosecution cited Maoist literature of the inflammatory kind seized from them. These documents,  with party hierarchy and  future activities detailed, are not accessible to ordinary civilians, it said.

Banners and sketchy plans, endangering the unity and integrity of the country, were found in their possessions, the prosecution told the court.

The court also took note of police claim, that developments in the aftermath of their arrests indicate their links to the Maoist cult.

Alan’s mobile phone has been sent for forensic examination, in hopes of retrieving further incriminating evidence.

Malappuram native Usman, who was with the pair but ran away in escape when cops arrived,  is indicted in 10 other cases, the police said adding that, intense manhunt is on track him down.

Usman’s bag, left behind in the incident, contained documents linking the group to Maoists, police said.

Alan Suhaib and Taha Fazal were nabbed from Kozhikode’s Pantirankav on Nov 1 and face charges under various sections of the UAPA.
