Kollam: The Opposition leader who has no qualms about depriving people their food supply, lacks courage to say ‘no’ to votes of  communal forces, said Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. What  state of mind  is this?,  asked CM.  The heinous line of thinking is : it is okay if people go to doom provided LDF can be gotten a bit worried. The Opposition leader’s announcement that there would be no saying ”no” to BJP votes,  is confirmation that a “deal” has been sealed this time too, CM told reporters   at a media briefing during election campaign in Kollam.

LDF govt’s pension and kits for people is not aimed to earn four more votes. Rather it is about bringing respite to people in hard times. Incidentally, LDF does not need votes or help from any communal force, said CM.

BJP and Congress that prevented aid to Kerala when floods struck, are  now trying to block kits and pension to its. The Opposition leader criticises Vishu kits and March-April pensions combo saying they are given owing to fear of electoral defeat. The Opposition is now looking to lodge complaint against rice distribution at schools too.

What has happened to the Opposition leader ? Would it be wrong to say he has lost sense of time, place?  Who ever said to the Opposition leader that  April kit was exclusively Vishu alone? Does he forget that Easter falls on 4th of April. Vishu is on the 14th and Ramadan too begins closely.  In any case, the decision for festive kits has not come on eve of election.

It is unfortunate that the Opposition and its leader can curse despair for people at a time like this.

The rejection of BJP nominations at three places where LDF has sitting MLAs, is part of clandestine deal between BJP and Congress. LDF has no bond with any kind of communal force. However Congress, for the sake of a few votes and coming to power, is trying to turn over the state to BJP.

BJP is back on  the ground wielding weapons including the Citizenship Amendment Act(CAA). During his Kerala visit, the Union Home Minister was heard saying “We’ll see after the elections’. In its election manifesto for  Assam and northern states, BJP says it will implement CAA. All of it, including Citizens’ Register that’s part of CAA, are RSS plans to go ahead with.

The LDF  made it clear there would be no CAA implementation in Kerala. It will not bend to any sort of dark law. RSS agenda will not find room in Kerala. Why are Congress-ruled states unable to take similar stand ? The foundation of secularism lies in never making religion a criterion for citizenship. And, quaking that foundation would mean ruin of secularism and democracy, said CM.
