Kozhikode : Police arrested husband of vlogger Rijfa Mehnaz in connection with her death in their Gulf home. The accused, Mehnaz, has been arrested under POCSO for marrying Rifa while she was still a minor.
Rifa was found hanging in the couple’s flat in Dubai’s Jafil on 1st of March. Her family said Mehnaz and couple of his friends had lied to them saying a postmortem was conducted in Dubai, when in fact, it was not. Also, the Mehnaz's unusual haste to conduct Rifa’s burial raised suspicions among relatives.
According to the postmortem, marks around Rifa’s neck aligns with the suicide theory. More investigations are underway.
