URGENT INTERVENTION FROM CENTRAL GOVERNMENT SOUGHT FOR EXPATRIATE INDIAN ENGINEERS IN KUWAIT

Expatriate Engineers including Indians residing in Kuwait are deeply worried over the circular released on 11th March 2018 by the Public Authority of Manpower, State of Kuwait. According to this circular, No Objection Certificate (NOC) from Kuwait Society of Engineers (KSE) has been mandated for those Engineers to continue their permit for residency in Kuwait. Since the circular has been implemented with immediate effect, majority of Engineers are unable to renew their residency, due to short notice. Further, delays from the KSE for verification of the submitted applications for NOC and their distribution has also become an added concern. Thus, almost eighty percent (80%) of Indian Engineers engaged in Kuwait would be forced to put an abrupt stop to their children’s education and return to India along with their families. Government of India is urged to highlight concerns with the Kuwait Government through mutual discussions / meetings, within shortest possible time frame, to avoid any such circumstances for Indian expatriate Engineers residing in Kuwait.
