Mumbai : Accused in Varapuzha rape case met with ultimate punishment during a drunken brawl in Mumbai. The deceased, Vinod Kumar, was found submerged in a well in Maharashtra’s Raigad with a stone roped to his body.
The accused worked with a resort in Raigad. The incident took place on Monday. According to police, arguments escalated to physical fight after drinks and ended up in Vinod’s death. Two have been taken into custody, one of who is a minor.
Vinod, the victim's brother-in-law, was among five charged with raping minor back in 2011 and later released by court in 2017. He left for Mumbai and had been staff with the resort since.
The body was cremated in Maharashtra.
