Thiruvananthapuram : In a suspected case of suicide, a family of three were found dead with burns inside their home in Varkala. Those deceased were identified as Vettoor native Sreekumar (58), his wife Mini(58) and their daughter Ananthalakshmy(26).
The neighbours noticed flames spread inside the house around 3 am morning and rushed to the residence in order to douse the fire. There, they found Sreekumar lying dead in the bathroom while the bodies of his wife and daughter were discovered in the inner rooms.
Sreekumar is a contractor and Ananthalakshmi a research student. The fire appeared to have been lit after drenching the place with petrol. The family is believed to have had substantial debts.
