Thiruvananthapuram : The Vigilance forms Special Investigation Team(SIT) for in-depth investigation of complaint regarding Opposition Leader VD Satheesan’s overseas fundraising and defraudment thereof in the name of Punarjani scheme to house flood victims of 2018. The SIT is headed by Vigilance Unit II SP V. Ajay Kumar. Other members of the team are DySP Salim Kumar, Circle Inspectors Manoj Chandran and Anoop Chandran.
Set to fall on the radar are Satheesan’s numerous foreign fundraising trips during the time, the quantum funds collected, mode in which they were transferred and what destinations they were funneled into.
The government issued investigations Order after receiving incriminating evidence on a complaint about the whole fundraising in the name of Punarjani as contravening with law and covert defraudment.
