Thiruvananthapuram A vigilance probe will be launched into blaze that erupted at Brahmapuram waste treatment plant, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan told the Assembly. The announcement was made in line with Sec 300.
All matters right from the beginning shall come under investigation. Police will conduct their own side of probe. It will be verified if there occurred lapse on part of the Kochi Corporation contributing to the blaze. Anyone found accountable shall be brought to justice, the Chief Minister assured. Mobilising collective action is essential for waste management. Conspired protests cannot be acknowledged.
In view of what happened in Brahmapuram, the govt has initiated steps to pursue international expertise toward waste management. World bank has expressed willingness to fund in this regard. Talks will World Bank delegates group shall be held between 21 – 23 March towards this. Expertise of other agencies too shall be utilised for the purpose.
It is essential to achieve the goal of proper waste treatment and disposal, so there does not occur another Brahmapuram. For this, let us have have collective endeavour without difference to Party politics. Let’s transform crisis arising out of Brahmapuram incident into an avenue to achieve clean Kerala, said CM.
The Brahmapuram blaze was doused with meticulous and collective efforts, said CM, who thanked the Fire and Rescue Service, Health department, Civil Defence, Police and Kochi Corporation for their active efforts.
