Thiruvananthapuram : The visions of Sree Narayana Guru live beyond ages, said Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. Sree Narayana Guru’s visions lighted and led the way to a progressive era for life circumstances in Kerala at a time when divisions among people were at peak and, superstitions and deterrent customs ruled the roost.The teachings and ideology gifted by Guru lends mirror to progressive Kerala, said CM in his Chadhayam Day greetings, adding that, Guru’s teachings will render the zeal for facing challenges in the way to becoming an enlightened society envisioned by Guru.
There has been no heroic reformer such as Guru to have had realised the significance education held in the advancement of Kerala as a society. Guru called upon people to question caste-based social rungs and democratize the society. Guru inspired people to openly oppose exploitative systems and confront the logic of caste highhandedness. Guru called upon to becoming stronger via collectiveness and distinctive via education. Science and humanity featured as much in Guru’s perspectives.
Kerala is what we see today owing to efforts and interventions made by illustrious reformers like Sree Narayana Guru. These are times when we must uphold Guru’s messages more vehemently than ever. The politics of religion and caste is a big challenge to our society. Communal forces, through their divisive politics, are attempting to destroy the secular feature of our country. Constrictive forces are constantly attempting to shatter unity of mankind. May Guru’s teachings and fight he led provide zeal to face these challenges, said CM.
