New Delhi : Kiran Kumar, the culprit in Vismaya case secured bail from Supreme Court after the apex court observed there was no need for further custody of him, with chargesheet in the case already submitted. The ruling came from Bench headed by Justice SK Kaul.
Kiran Kumar has been charged with dowry harassment and domestic violence. According to police, there exists several circumstantial evidences and digital proof, including the deceased’s own voice messages on torture at hands of her husband.
22-year-old Vismaya was found dead in her husband Kiran Kumar’s house in Kollam’s Sasthamkotta on 21 June last year. Kiran employed as Motor Vehicle Inspector was subsequently terminated from service.
The day before her death, Vismaya sent WhatsApp messages to relatives narrating harassment for more dowry. On the day, she also posted photos showing bruises and cuts from violent thrashes Kiran inflicted.
