Thiruvananthapuram : Health Minister Veena George donates blood to commemorate national Voluntary Blood Donation Day. She made her donation early morning Friday, at Woman & Child Hospital in Thycaud in the camp organised by the district’s Health Department and AIDS Control Society.
The hospital is equipped with modern medical technology that separates donated blood into transfusable components like red cells, platelets and plasma.
Post donation, the minister said she was happy to have donated blood. The Health Department is working well toward encouraging blood donations. Anyone in good health, including health workers, can donate blood. So can the women folks. Everybody eligible should come forward to make blood donations, the minister said.
