Kochi : Byelections in Thrikkakara will be held on 31 May. The seat fell vacant following demise of Congress leader PT Thomas. Vote counting will take place on 3 June.
The date was finalised at Election Commission meeting held Monday. Bypolls in Odisha’s Brajraj Nagar and Champavath in Uttarakhand too will be held the same day.
The notification for bypolls will be released tomorrow, Wednesday. Nomination papers may be filed up to 11 May. Scrutiny will be held 12 May. Papers may be withdrawn up to 16 May.
